Who we are:
We are You and Me Supported Living Limited. Our approach is to safeguard clients inside their homes and within their communities. This means we safeguard information we collect. The information collected is about our clients and the workers we employ to care for them. We may share some of this information. However, we will only do so because the law requires us too or because we have written consent.
There are 2 types of information we collect:
• Information about clients.
• Information about workers
We collect the information from various sources.
For clients the sources usually are:
• Social Services
• Medical / Psychological Reports
• Birth Families
For workers the sources usually are:
• Past employers
• Employment references
• Personal references
• Statutory Checks

There are three lawful bases which allow us to collect information about clients and workers. These are:
You and Me Supported Living is a regulated organisation. Compliance is regulated by The Care Quality Commission. The Statutory basis underpinning the regulatory regime is:
• The Care Act 2014 and The Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) 2015.
• Housing with Care. Guidance in regulated activities for providers of supported living and extra care housing. October 2015. This guidance is produced by The Care Quality Commission.
Information collected under this basis will be used to ensure that our clients are supported to a high standard and live in a home suitable to their needs.This information may be shared with the Government Regulator and any other Statutory Body with direct responsibility for the care of a client.
Information collected under this basis will not be kept for longer than is necessary to ensure regulatory compliance.This information will not be shared with organisations engaged in market research.
You and Me Supported Living is an employer of workers. In this capacity we are governed by the provisions of:
• The Employment Rights Act 1996. In particular Section 230.
Information collected under this basis does enable us to offer and accept workers under legal contracts of employment. This information may be shared with the Government Regulator and any other Statutory Body such as:
• HM Revenues and Customs
• The Office of National Statistics
• Employment Tribunals
• The Pensions Regulator
This list is not exhaustive.
Information collected under this basis may be retained for up to six years.
Personal records such as employment contracts and performance appraisals will be retained for up to six years.
Information related to unsuccessful job applicants such as CV’s and interview notes will be held for 6 months.
This information will not be shared with organisations engaged in market research.
Consent means providing clients with real choice and control. In means putting clients in charge of information held about them. It enables trust and engagement to be built between clients and company. Separate consent will be required for different things. Real consent allows a client to give consent or to withdraw consent.
Consent will be sought from a client to support themto engage with:
• Housing Benefit Personnel
• Universal Credit Personnel
• College and Training Providers
• Medical Services from Doctors, Hospitals,Dentists and appropriately qualified Therapists.

Information collected under this basis will not be kept for longer than is necessary to ensure regulatory compliance. This information will not be shared with organisations engaged in market research.
Clients and workers have rights in regard to information we hold. Among the rights are the:
• Right to access
• Right to object
• Right to have information rectified or erased.
